I Love TV Part 1

Basically, if we’ve ever met for probably even just 5 minutes, you know that I love television. I love it. In college, I couldn’t do homework WITHOUT the television on. However, I find both silence and music to be distracting. Weird, I know. It probably says really horrible things about my consumption of media (right, Sarah?).

Every new TV season I get really excited because so many shows seem amazing and then it turns out that most of them suck. But, this season, primetime TV is awesome. Super awesome. So awesome that I can’t contain myself and therefore have to share all my findings. Consider me a television investigator and you get to reap the rewards.

To begin, all my favorite shows are back and are still so good that I still favorite them. These are television gold that everyone should look into for their own benefit. Ask Sarah, she’s now addicted to NCIS.

Favorites: NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy, The Office, So You Think You Can Dance, and 30 Rock, whenever it returns. (And, just to make it clear, LOST. But, it’s on hiatus).

Unfortunately, other shows that I used to favorite, have had to take a backseat.

Favorite shows I have given up: America’s Next Top Model, Project Runway, Fringe. (Though, as I write this I’m watching a Project Runway marathon of all the new episodes and I plan on catching up on Fringe later because Shlee told me to… so… this list is really just shows I only make time for when I feel like it).

So, with that established, I present you with

“Awesome New Television: Part 1.”

Eastwick: I’d be surprised if this went beyond 3 seasons. It’s sort of a throwback to Charmed (classic), but a little more weird and a little more funny. Either way, the cast is awesome and my interest has been piqued. The plot is sort of odd (I mean, they’re witches), but it takes place in a cute small town a la Gilmore Girls, and there is mystery and laughter. However, I usually watch it on Hulu instead of when it’s on TV. (Wednesdays, 10pm, ABC).

Cougar Town: Heyyy, funniest new show on TV. That is, if you like sort of over-the-top humor mixed in with adult/inappropriate humor. I do. And, it has COURTNEY COX (Hallelujah)! Reason enough to watch. Plus, everyone else on the show is funny too. Fo realz. Unfortunately, it conflicts with Glee so I have to watch it on Hulu. Sorry, Courtney, but I love singing/dancing combos. But, I’m glad you’re finally on a show that won’t be canceled. (Wednesdays, 9:30pm, ABC).

Glee: I’ll be honest, I genuinely dislike one of the subplots of this show. Fortunately, it is overshadowed by the amazing talent of the largely unknown cast (except Jane Lynch, whom I know and love). Already featuring awesome guest stars like KRISTEN CHENOWETH, Glee is a powerhouse of singing and dancing and I love it. Then I love it some more when I download all the songs on iTunes and listen to them on repeat while I run. Anyway, my Dad would probably hate this show, but people who like singing/dancing/drama will enjoy it. And anyone who enjoys the gays. (Wednesdays, 9:00pm, FOX).

Note: All these shows are on Wednesdays. Clearly Wednesday is a great night for TV.

Consider this a gift from me to you. Stay tuned for “Awesome New Television: Part 2.”
